When & how often should you wax?
Every guy is different, but most clients find they need waxing every 4-6 weeks. A good rule of thumb is to wait until the hairs on the area(s) you want to wax are around 5mm long so that the wax is able to pick them up.
Do I need to
do anything special to prepare?
To help you have the best experience, here are some pre-appointment tips to help you prep:
Ideally the hair length should be no shorter than 5mm. Any shorter and the wax might not stick to the hairs.
It's not mandatory, but I recommend gently exfoliating the area a day or two before your appointment. This helps remove dead skin cells and can reduce the chances of ingrown hairs after waxing.
Make sure your skin is clean and free from oils or lotions on the day of your appointment. Avoid applying any creams or oils to the area before you come in, as they can interfere with the wax's grip.
Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment. Proper hydration can make the waxing process more comfortable and help your skin recover more quickly.
Refrain from tanning or extended sun exposure for at least 24-48 hours before your appointment. Sunburned skin can be more sensitive during waxing.
If you have any specific concerns or skin conditions, it's a good idea to discuss them during the consultation before the appointment so that I can offer you personalised advice and make any necessary adjustments.
Remember that proper aftercare is just as important as pre-appointment preparation. Following your waxing session, keep the area clean and avoid activities that could irritate the skin. After you wax I'll provide you with post-waxing care instructions to look after your skin.
